In short

This website uses no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no embedded video or third-party font, and nothing that follows you from page to page. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to ask you to consent to.

Why there is no banner

Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC requires prior consent only when information is stored on or read from a user's device for purposes that are not strictly necessary. The pages of this site are static and write nothing to your device for analytics or marketing purposes.

What does get stored

Server logs

The hosting provider automatically records, in technical logs, the IP address of the request, the date, the page requested and the browser type. This keeps the site running, defends it against attacks and helps diagnose errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of the service, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. These logs are not used to profile you.

Fonts and images

Typography and images are served from the site's own domain. We do not load fonts from Google Fonts or any other external service, so your IP address is not disclosed to third parties while you browse.

The app is a different matter

There are no cookies inside the mobile app, but there is local storage holding your path, journal and preferences. That is described in the privacy policy.

If we change our minds later

If we ever introduce analytics tools or third-party content, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for consent before switching them on.
