Deleting your account and data

You can close your account whenever you want. You do not have to give a reason and there is no charge.

Method 1: from the app

1. Open Mentalità Blindata.
2. Open the Account screen, from the side menu or from Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
4. Confirm.

The confirmation is final and takes effect immediately.

Method 2: by email

If you cannot get into the app, write to support@mentalitablindata.com from the email address you registered with, using "Account deletion" as the subject. If you write from a different address we have to verify your identity first, so that we do not delete someone else's account on a stranger's request.

What gets deleted

Deletion removes the following from our servers:

• the account and its sign-in credentials;
• the email address and display name;
• content posted on the community board, including uploaded files;
• leaderboard position and synced progression data;
• the cloud backup of your path, including journal notes, the Pact, logged relapses and any transformation photos it held;
• the workout plan and diet synced to the account;
• the subscription status linked to the account.

What we do not delete, and why

The data on your phone. Your path, journal, transformation photos, workout and diet stay in your device's memory: deleting the account removes the copy on our servers, not the one in your hands. To remove that too, uninstall the app or use the reset function in settings. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.

Coach conversations. They are stored on your phone and we keep no copy on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete: they go when you uninstall the app.

An active subscription. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription, because Apple or Google manages it. Cancel it through the store as described on the subscriptions and refunds page, otherwise renewal continues.

Accounting records. Information needed to document transactions is kept for the period required by the applicable tax law, held separately and not used for anything else.

Timescales

If you delete from the app, removal is immediate: by the time the confirmation returns, the account and its data are gone. If you write to us by email, we proceed within 30 days of verifying your identity. Either way, copies held in the database's technical backups are overwritten within 90 days by the rotation cycle.

Second thoughts

Once deleted, an account cannot be recovered. You can create a new one with the same email, but it will start empty.
